Agonizing screams and pleas for mercy reverberated through the large hall.

The surrounding onlookers slowly calmed down following Lina's departure.

Grimacing, they stared up at Bailey, who was on the stage.

And to think that we were denunciating this woman for Lina's sake just a few moments ago. Who would have thought that things would escalate so quickly? This is so embarrassing.

Humiliation inundated the crowd.

They thought they had finally found a big shot who was just as outstanding as Bailey, but who would have thought that the big shot turned out to be Bailey herself again?

She was the expert antique appraiser, Vespera, the only disciple of the Grandmaster Gadzinski, and her ancient relic appraising skills were already out of this world.

It was infuriating to think that she found the authentic emerald seal and accomplished yet another great feat.

However, regardless of how infuriating or unfair it was, the reality was that she was awesome, amazing, and a genius whom everyone admired. No one could take that identity away from her.

Someone in the crowd gritted his teeth and asked resentfully, “Bailey, are you really Master Vespera?”

Bailey arched her brow and smirked. “From what I know, Gadzinski, that old geezer, only took in one disciple, and that's Vespera.”

“Don't beat around the bush. I want to hear from you that you are the real deal.”

Bailey raised her arm and waved the ancient emerald in front of the audience before explaining nonchalantly, “I am the only one in this world who can authenticate this red emerald. What are the chances that I am not her based on this fact alone? I am Vespera, the great master whom all of you looked up to.”

The man kept quiet at that.

Bailey continued, “Everything that happened today was because of greed. Lina must pay for what she did. As for the rest of you, write down your sins, repent, publish for the world to see, and I will let this slide.”

The crowd of specialists exchanged looks.

They knew she was referring to them when she mentioned “the rest.”

Nevertheless, they felt relieved when they heard she was going to let the matter slide.

It was better to lose their dignity by publishing their sins for the world to see than go to jail.

One of the specialists sighed. “I'm becoming senile. I've gone astray because I was so blinded by fame and fortune. It was a good thing you found the real red emerald, Ms. Jefferson, or else it would have been lost under our noses, and future generations would have condemned us for this.”

“That's right. We were idiots. How could we have made our judgment based on our intuitions alone? We believed the jade to be real just because our sixth sense told us so.”

“Ms. Jefferson, I apologize for the things I've said.”

Bailey waved her arm.

She wasn't in the mood to listen to their crap. Is their reputation so important that they would lie so blatantly in my face? How could they confirm the emerald's authenticity when they weren't even sure? Heh. And to think that they call themselves specialists. What a joke.

They had no respect for themselves even though they were a lot older than Bailey.

“Now that we have found the real red emerald, I will hand it over to Mr. Fletcher since he's sent here to settle the matter as the country's representative.”

With that, she threw the emerald at Raiden without even caring if he could catch it.

Raiden cursed under his breath as he dashed forward to catch the red emerald.

Bailey arched her brow and smiled. “Chill. Why are you so nervous? This baby can withstand extremely high heat. It won't break that easily.”

Raiden was rendered speechless.
