Micah staggered a few steps backward.

Those painful memories that Holden had brought up were like daggers stabbing into his heart, causing him so much agony that he was barely able to breathe.

Shannon would never be able to recover from the trauma of losing an arm and the death of her precious child.

As such, he knew that the Lewitt family would never forgive him no matter what he did.

Shannon resented him.

Even Ivy, who had once treated him like her own son, hated him to the core.

Holden also disregarded their friendship of twenty years in order to protect his sister.

Micah knew that he was a sinner, and because of his guilt, he would never be able to look the Lewitts in the eye ever again.

His heart was filled with desolation as he turned around and stumbled away.

The man was fully aware that Holden was right. Shannon had had a life worse than death. Now that Ivy had returned to soothe Shannon's wounded soul, he shouldn't appear and cause her more misery.

Looking at his friend's sorrowful and lonesome figure, Holden finally let out a sigh and said softly, “Focus on getting revenge for your son first. Perhaps, after that, you can think about getting back together with my sister. She has been in hell for too long and needs your help to pull her out of it. Even if you fail to do that, you should join her there and stay by her side.”

Micah halted in his tracks and balled his hands into fists tightly before replying, “Sure. I will definitely avenge my child. Holden, thanks for your blessing. When I finish what I have to do, I will come for Shannon and never leave her again.”

Meanwhile, at the medical base, Justin was personally performing the surgery to remove Veronique's womb.

As Veronique had already given birth to Zephyr, she had no more regrets. Since she was unable to keep her womb, her only option was to remove it.

Members of the Revelle family were sitting on the bench outside the operating room while waiting patiently for the outcome of the surgery.

Bailey beckoned Wendy over and led her to the side before asking softly, “Wendy, do you know Huntley?”

When Wendy heard the question, she understood what Bailey meant at once.

However, after all those conflicts that had happened between the two of them previously, she was reluctant to answer the woman so readily.

“Ha! Ms. Jefferson, aren't you very capable? You can find out yourself. Why are you asking me?”

Bailey found Wendy's response rather amusing.

Even though Wendy was a little prideful, she had a kind heart.

Besides, Bailey was aware that someone raised by the Hoffmans wouldn't be bad by nature.

To ease the tension in the air and make Wendy feel better, Bailey said, “My dear Wends, please don't be angry anymore. You are not really in love with Lionel anyway, so it wouldn't matter if you let my friend have him, right? Besides, you got back together with Holden again because of the trouble Vicky created. In a way, Vicky had helped you come to terms with your true feelings, don't you think? Wends, my dearest Wends—”

“Stop.” Wendy touched her arm and said through gritted teeth, “Stop being so mushy. Look, I'm having goosebumps all over.”

Bailey broke into a cheeky smile and said, “I will stop being mushy only if you tell me about Huntley.”

“Huntley is Mr. Raymond's godson. That old man's son died young. As such, a few years ago, he decided to adopt Huntley, who was only twenty back then.”

Bailey narrowed her eyes slightly and replied, “So that means Mr. Raymond has been intentionally grooming him? Is he really that impressive?”

Wendy nodded and replied, “Huntley is the most capable one among his peers. Many years back, Mr. Raymond had already had the intention for him to marry my sister, but the proposition was rejected by my parents. The matter was brought up again recently, and Juliana had gladly agreed to it. I really wonder what that girl is up to.”

Bailey pondered for a moment before asking, “Is Huntley highly regarded in the family?”

“Well, not exactly, but people do show him some respect. By the way, this was the situation before I left the Hoffman family. I don't know anything about his progress in the family in recent years. However, the fact that Mr. Raymond had chosen him to keep Julie in check is enough to show that he is definitely a powerful character.”
