Am I ready for it? Well, at this point, what else can I do? I've already been told that Zeke and Shirley have officiated their marriage. It's obvious that I don't belong in his world. If I expect too much, I'm just going to trouble others and myself. I might as well forget about it and focus on the Hoffman family. Juliana considered the child as the best gift from God because the child would keep her company for the rest of her life. I shouldn't be greedy. The more I want, the more I'll lose in the process.

“Thank you, Huntley. Although I don't know why you would help me, I know you don't have any evil intentions. I thank God for sending you when I was at my lowest. If not for you, I'm afraid I would've already aborted this child,” Juliana uttered.

In response, Huntley couldn't help but chuckle. I also met her when I was at my lowest. She's the reason I'm here today.

“You ought to stop overthinking and be careful in the next few days. I'm afraid that Mr. Raymond might come after the child in your belly. After all, he's not amused to see you pregnant with my child. He's afraid that he'll lose control over me after I've bonded with you. Therefore, he'll keep coming up with ways to tear us apart. You must look after yourself,” Huntley said.

“Okay. I will. You should do the same.”

...

Early the next day in the private airport in the Luther residence, Artemis was tidying up Bailey's trench coat and urging, “Please stay in over the next few days. If you need anything done, get Ken to do it for you. I'm leaving him here, so stop doing everything yourself. As for the anti-cancer medication research, you can bring the machines home. Don't leave home. Do you hear me?”

Bailey nodded with a smile. “Don't worry. Why are you talking to me as if I were a child?”

Artemis then bent over to carry his daughter up into his arms. While caressing her head, he smiled and reminded her, “Stay home and keep your mommy company. If you need anything, call me. I'll bring back what you need from overseas.”

Instead of answering, Susan snuggled in Artemis' embrace and giggled.

Seeing that, Zayron pouted and gritted his teeth. “Are you guys done? One of you is all over the daughter while the other one is showering the eldest son with love. Did you pick me up from the bin?”

Bailey immediately reached out her hand to smack the back of Zayron's head. “When you released the snakes and injured dozens of people, I paid for all the victims' medical fees! Would I have done that if I picked you up from the bin?”

Zayron was rendered speechless.

Artemis, on the other hand, narrowed his eyes and gazed at Zayron. In a deep voice, he said, “Your grandparents are old, and your mommy isn't feeling well. Stop fooling around and making them mad.”

Zayron rolled his eyes and wanted to refute.

Right then, a chuckle rang out from behind. “Let Zayron come with me. I'm very fond of this child. Who knows? He might end up leading the Shurmer family in the future.”

Everyone turned in the direction of the voice and saw Zeke walking toward them with an umbrella in his hand.

Zayron instantly ran toward Zeke and greeted him, “Hi, Uncle Zeke!”

Zeke threw his umbrella aside and carried Zayron in his arms. “It's all right. If they don't want you, I want you! I'll take you around from now on.”

With that, Zeke raised his gaze toward Artemis and said, “Be at ease, okay? I'll take care of Bay and the kids. Don't worry.”

Artemis lowered his gaze to check his watch and nodded. “Okay. It's getting late, so I need to board the plane. Don't stay here, you guys. It's cold out here. Go back into the Luther residence.”

“I don't mind. I'll watch you board the plane, and I'll only go back in after your flight has taken off.”

Artemis didn't insist. He then put Susan down, kissed Bailey's forehead, and strode toward the boarding gate.

“He'll return safely,” Zeke said.
