Zoey apologized to the person on the other end of the phone and ended the call.

“Don't be angry, Lady Scarlett. I'm working on a cooperation deal between us,” Zoey uttered.

Cooperation? Scarlett narrowed her eyes and stared at Zoey. “What tricks are you playing on me, Zoey? At this moment, I'm not someone you can afford to mess with.”

Zoey smiled sheepishly and replied, “You're right, Lady Scarlett. Who would dare to cross you? However, you're suffering emotionally, aren't you? Don't you think that's rather...”

“What are you getting at?” Scarlett raised her voice. “Zoey, I don't have time for your bullsh*t. Spill it!”

“Veronique is critically ill.”

Scarlett was stunned momentarily. She then narrowed her eyes at Zoey and queried, “What did you say?”

Zoey lowered her head to conceal the frigid look in her eyes from Scarlett. What's with her attitude? Everyone knows she can only afford to behave this way because the Fletcher family is backing her. I would love to see if she can still stay arrogant when she loses the Fletcher family's support one day.

“I said Veronique was critically ill. Prior to this, one of the experts called me and told me the cancer cells in Veronique were starting to spread, so she was in critical condition. But...”

“But what? Speak.”

“But it seems like Bailey will save her. You know Bailey is Anonymous, right? Not only does she have incredible medical skills, but she had even developed an anti-cancer drug for the country. Hence, she's rather experienced in this field. If she says she can save Veronique, she surely can.”

Hearing that, Scarlett slammed her hand on the table, and her face was distorted with rage. “It's you again, Bailey Jefferson! You're always ruining my plans. Is your existence just to oppose me?”

In response, Zoey clicked her tongue and uttered in disappointment, “Initially, after Veronique died, no one would be standing in your way anymore, Lady Scarlett. She was meant to die. However, Bailey showed up and ended your hopes.”

Scarlett glared at Zoey and gritted her teeth. “You didn't ask me out just to say this, did you? What else do you have for me? Spill it! My patience is running low.”

“All right. Since you're being so straightforward, Ms. Fletcher, I'll be frank. Would you like to work with me to get rid of Bailey?”

What? Of course! Scarlett was too angry to think it through, and she asked, “How?”

“Now is the best chance to kill Bailey.”

Scarlett clenched her fists, and her gaze turned gloomy. “What chance are you talking about? If it turns out to be something I deem doable, I'm not going to hold back.”

Scarlett had been wanting to kill Bailey. However, she failed every time she tried. Needless to say, she hated Bailey to the bone, and she wanted nothing more than to kill her.

“It has been raining, hasn't it? If Bailey were to die in a road accident, wouldn't that be easy and convenient?” Zoey asked.

Scarlett raised her gaze abruptly and asked, “That's a crime. Are you asking me to commit a crime, Zoey? What are your intentions?”

Zoey chuckled coldly, and a frightening look appeared on her face. “Lady Scarlett, how could it not be a crime if we are killing someone? That's just how it is. If you want Bailey to die, that's the only thing you can do now. Besides, now is your perfect chance because Artemis isn't in Hallsbay. Bailey is seldom out of the house except for today. You can't possibly go to the Luther residence to kill Bailey, can you? Also, you won't have a chance to get rid of Bailey once Artemis has returned.”

Scarlett pursed her lips and kept mum for a while. Through her gritted teeth, she said, “Okay. Today's the day, then. Tell me where she'll be and when she'll be there. I'll arrange for someone to cause a road accident.”

“Sure. Let's have a fruitful collaboration.”
