Bailey rushed into the ICU ward only to meet Felicity's smiling eyes.

“You're a grown-up now. Why do you still act like a child?”

Bailey's eyes teared up immediately.

She rushed to the side of Felicity's bed and hugged her before bursting into tears.

“You have finally woken up. I wouldn't have known how to face Artemis if you couldn't.”

Felicity was dumbfounded.

As far as she could recall, Bailey had always been an assertive person who was hard to please.

Therefore, Felicity did not expect to witness her vulnerable side.

Felicity was glad, and at the same time, love welled up within her.

This girl needs to be loved and cared for too.

Felicity then reached out to pat Bailey's back, which seemed to calm the younger woman down.

“I'm fine now that I have woken up, am I not? There's no need to worry about me, and please don't blame yourself. Don't worry about Artemis. Thankfully, you are all right. If not, I would be the one unable to face him.”

Bailey chuckled and hugged her tightly. “Luckily, we are all fine. Nothing can happen to any one of us. Artemis and I aren't married yet, and the children are still young. You need to be around to see them grow up.”

Felicity smiled when she heard that. Despite being a little pale, she looked so much better. It would probably take her another couple of days to fully recover.

The next moment, Simon and Caridee rushed in one after the other. When Caridee saw that her mother was awake, she burst into tears right away.

Like Bailey, she rushed to the other side of the bed and buried herself in her mother's embrace.

“Mom, you scared me to death.”

Felicity put her arms around her daughter and glanced at her right arm. “Is there nothing that can be done to fix your arm?”

Caridee waved her hand and said indifferently, “It's all right. I broke my arm because of someone I like, so please don't worry about me. I'm fine.”

Seeing how her daughter was so open-minded, Felicity chuckled. “After spending much time with Bailey, your character has changed tremendously. That's good. Girls from the Luther family must be big-hearted and carry themselves well.”

Caridee grinned from ear to ear. “Mom, does that mean that you agree with what I had done? That I should pursue the man I fancy? Aren't you bothered by his identity anymore?”

Felicity let out a soft sigh. After a moment of silence, she replied, “That's right. I have finally come around. The Luther family is wealthy as it is. There's no need for my children to marry for connections. I will support your choice regardless.”

“Mom, you're the best.” Caridee put an arm around her mother's neck and gave her a peck on her cheek.

Felicity could not hold back her smile. She then looked at Bailey and said, “Bay, believe me. In the future, I will treat you like my own daughter.”

To that, Bailey smiled in response.

Of course, she believed her.

Felicity had risked her life to save Bailey. Bailey would never doubt her even though she knew that the main reason was because of Artemis. Since Felicity loved her son, she was willing to love Bailey as her own as well.

Then again, Bailey was still overjoyed. After all, both women loved Artemis.

“Thank you for allowing me to feel the love of a mother. But please don't shield me again. You are an elder. I should be the one to protect you instead.”

Felicity reached out to caress her head. “You are a good girl. Caridee nearly went astray after being around Rhonda for a few years. It's all thanks to you that she managed to snap back to her senses. If not, my precious daughter would have been ruined.”

Bailey looked at Caridee and smiled. “She isn't a bad person. She was just affected by her environment. Please don't worry. Although Veikko has no parents, I have acknowledged him as my younger brother. I know him very well. If Caridee can acquire his heart, he will care and protect her with his life.”

“Okay. Although I haven't seen this boy, he must be a very excellent young man since you treat him as your brother. That's good then. I feel so much better knowing that.”

Simon, who had been standing at the foot of the bed, rolled his eyes when he saw the women having a jolly good time chatting away. He sounded weird when he said, “I'm glad all of you got what you wanted unlike me who is still all by myself.”

Caridee scoffed lightly, “Don't you have a girlfriend? Why are you acting all pathetic?”

Simon was speechless. “We broke up.”

What?

Bailey smiled and consoled him, “So be it. I'll introduce a better girl to you.”

To that, Simon had no response.

Now that Felicity had regained consciousness, the Luther family could finally get out of that trauma.

In the study at the medical base, Zayron told Bailey, “Bailey, my dad has already arrived at Hallsbay, and his plane has landed directly at Tarragon's branch. Do you need me to contact him through the spy that I have planted there?”

Bailey frowned and shook her head after a while. “Let's not act rashly. I'm sure your dad has other plans. We mustn't act recklessly. If not, we will spoil his plan.”

Zayron nodded in response. “Veikko has contacted me and told me that he has investigated everything in Gregan. He will return to Hallsbay within the next two days. I reckon that you need someone to protect you at all times, so it will be a wise move that he returns to Hallsbay.”

Bailey was taken aback.

Veikko has already looked into it?

“What has he found out?”

Zayron shrugged his shoulders and replied, “He didn't tell me. I suppose he is waiting to tell you in person.”
