Bailey sneered. A frosty and emotionless look glinted in her eyes.

“I'm not a saint who can tolerate you after you slashed me. I'm someone who thoroughly enjoys watching others suffer as their joy turns into utter disappointment. Unfortunately, you just became one of those people.”

Shirley spewed out a mouthful of blood as a result of the immense shock and fell face-first toward the ground.

Genevieve hurriedly reached out to support her, but she couldn't bear Shirley's weight and ended up crashing heavily to the floor alongside her daughter.

“Bailey, my daughter's like this because of you, yet you're still unwilling to stop! Must you drive her to the brink of death?”

Bailey's eyes gleamed coldly as she gazed at her bleeding arm. Does she think she can get away unscathed after hurting me? That's impossible! “Sammy, call the police. Tell them someone wants to assassinate me, and let them handle this case.”

Shirley convulsed violently on the floor. Her eyes bulged as she glared intently at Bailey.

Her demeanor at that moment was no different from a vengeful ghost that had arisen from hell, yearning to reap Bailey's soul.

Genevieve panicked and hastily said, “Shirley was emotionally unstable after receiving the devastating blow. That was why she injured you. You're fine anyway, aside from the minor scrape on your arm. Considering how you've tormented her, please just let her go. I beg you.”

Bailey staggered and fell into Zeke's arms.

Taking in the turns of events, Shirley began to laugh maniacally again. “Bailey, you won't have much longer to live. Rhonda gave me this poison; you should know better than anyone how much she hates you. She won't hand over the antidote to you even if you grovel at her feet. Haha! All that awaits me is imprisonment. This outcome is worth it since I'll be able to witness your impending demise.”

Not bothering to reply, Bailey said to Zeke weakly, “Help me to the laboratory. I need to prepare the antidote.”

Hearing that, Shirley was rendered speechless and slightly stunned.

When the pang of realization hit her, the churning hatred in her eyes intensified. How is this possible? Rhonda told me there's no way to formulate an antidote to this poison, so how come Bailey knows how to do it? “No way. This is not possible. How could you possibly know how to prepare the antidote? Bailey, you're deceiving me again.”

Bailey didn't turn around. She continued walking away while answering, “If there's no way to create the antidote, how do you explain the one in Rhonda's possession? You're so pathetic, so foolish that you don't even know others are using you, and you're still daydreaming here.”

Shirley coughed up another mouthful of blood.

She glared resentfully at Bailey's retreating figure as her gaze gradually became unfocused. A few seconds later, her eyes rolled over, and she passed out.

Zeke looked down at Bailey in his arms and asked with furrowed brows, “Were you just trying to scare her, or do you really plan to send her to jail?”

Bailey sneered. “I am sending her to prison because sparing her will only cause trouble for Julie. I don't want to regret my decision today if something terrible happens in the future.”

He fell silent afterward.

Not long after, the police arrived.

After investigating that matter and understanding the situation better, they decided to take Shirley into custody for intentional assault.

Shirley's parents went to beg Bailey, but they were turned away at the door and didn't even get to meet Bailey. In the end, the couple could only watch helplessly as their daughter was taken away.

After uttering a terse remark, telling Genevieve it was all her fault, Richard fainted as well.

Genevieve was suddenly at a loss for what to do.

Meanwhile, inside the ward, Caridee had just learned from the butler that Veikko's private plane was about to arrive, and she hurriedly sprang out of bed.

Seeing that, Felicity immediately reached out to grab her. “The weather is freezing outside. You should at least put on a coat. You might catch a cold.”

“Bring me the coat, then. I want to be the first person Veikko sees when he lands. That way, he'll prioritize me.”

Amused, Felicity laughed and chided her while retrieving a coat from the nearby rack to drape it over Caridee. “My daughter's all grown up now and can't wait to leave me. You just turned eighteen, so can't you at least wait a few years before you start thinking about getting into romantic relationships?”

Caridee chuckled. “There's nothing I can do since fate has brought Veikko into my life. You should be grateful since you'll have one less thing to worry about after I get married. Isn't that nice?”

“You have a point.”

After helping Caridee put on the coat, Felicity spoke to Simon, who was playing a game on his phone on the couch. “Go with your sister. It's snowing outside, so the floor is slippery. I'm worried she might slip and cause further damage to her arm.”

Simon rolled his eyes. “She's going out to meet a guy. Why should I tag along and play the third wheel?”

Having said that, he tossed his phone aside and helped Caridee walk outside.

“This way, my lady. Slow down, and don't hurt your arm. Otherwise, I'm done for.”

Caridee was rendered speechless.

Meanwhile, on the outdoor grounds, the private plane gradually descended.

Caridee stood on tiptoe, looking into the distance.

Simon carefully supported her, fearing she might lose her balance.
