Philip laughed heartily.

“Great. What are we waiting for? Just say yes to his request! It's a good opportunity, and we shouldn't let it go to waste.”

“All right, then I'll go negotiate with him.”

“Go ahead.” Tucker turned around to leave but suddenly stopped as if struck by a thought.

“Father, should we send Juliana and Huntley to Intel Island? Keeping them in the family is like having a ticking time bomb.”

“No way.” Without giving it a second thought, Philip immediately objected.

“Raymond is still the head of the family. He has discussed their marriage arrangement with the elders, intending for the couple to live an ordinary life within the family. We cannot secretly sabotage this, or else we'll lose our credibility, and no one would support us in the future.” Tucker nodded.

“All right, I'll listen to you. I'll go contact Shaun now. I hope we can achieve great things this time. As long as we took over Tarragon, we won't need Uncle Raymond to step down as we can just force him to hand over his power.”

“That's right. Go ahead.”

Leaning against the floor-to-ceiling window in the living room of a private mansion in the eastern suburb of Radford, Veikko was holding his phone, taking a call.

“He went to Moranta? What for?”

“Mr. Carter went at the invitation of the Hoffman family's collateral relative, Tucker Hoffman. As for the purpose, I haven't found out yet. Please give me some more time.”

“All right. Keep investigating and report back to me as soon as you have any news. By the way, where is Ms. Caridee now?”

“Lofbury. Mr. Yablon's men have lured her there. Don't worry. She won't be able to find you.” Veikko slightly lowered his head, a trace of gloom flickering in his eyes.

She still refuses to give up. I can't believe she even follows me all the way to a foreign country. Do I really have to lay bare my bloody past and dissect it all in front of her before she's willing to let go?

Having gone through what he had gone through, he was utterly repulsed and disgusted by romance and intimacy between men and women. It was likely that he would never form a union with a woman for the rest of his life.

Why is she pestering me? Does she want to live the rest of her life like a widow?

“Find out where Shaun's wife and child are.”

“Yes, Sir.”

Bailey arrived at Tarragon Headquarters at four o'clock in the early morning on the second day when the sky was still dark.

Zeke stood by the window in the private jet, holding a telescope in his hand.

After scanning the surroundings, he furrowed his brows and said, “You sneaked over here without informing Artemis. Can we even get in?”

Bailey lifted the blanket off her body and walked towards the window.

“I've contacted Shannon, and she'll help us out. She'll make sure our private jet can land smoothly, so you don't need to worry.”

Zeke turned to look at her and asked with a frown, “Why didn't you tell Artemis? What are you planning?” Bailey grinned.

“Can't I give him a surprise? We haven't seen each other for so many days, so he must miss me a lot. Heh. Just thinking about it makes me feel that he would be really happy and excited about my sudden appearance. When he's happy, I'll be happy too. All my joy is tied to him.”

Zeke shook his head helplessly, then reached out and flicked her forehead hard.

“Where's your spine?”

Beep!

Bailey's phone rang in her hand.

“It's a navigation sent by Shannon. Take it to the captain and have him descend according to these geographical coordinates.”

Zeke acknowledged and took the phone before heading towards the cockpit. Bailey gazed at the majestic buildings below, and couldn't help but marvel in her heart.

As expected of the world's top power, this headquarters was truly magnificent. It was no wonder Tarragon held an unshakable position in the international arena.

People like Philip and Sofie who thought they could bring down Tarragon with just a few despicable tricks were simply daydreaming.

This organization, even without the backbones, Artemis, Holden, and Micah, could still survive in desperate situations. It was not something other people like them could easily shake. Ten minutes later, the private jet came to a halt on the tarmac.

Stepping out of the cabin, Bailey saw Shannon waving at her from a distance. She instantly quickened her pace. After descending the steps, she embraced Shannon tightly. She could feel that the latter seemed to be much more relaxed after taking her revenge.

In the past, she found Shannon depressing. Every time she looked at the latter, she felt an urge to cry. Shannon's life was a tapestry of stories, each one woven with her tears and blood.

As one read on, they would find themselves immersed in the story, and before they knew it, tears would start to flow down their cheeks uncontrollably.

But now that Shannon had gotten her revenge, Bailey seemed to no longer feel that oppressive and sorrowful emotion within the former.

“Shannon, the future still holds promise, so don't give up easily.”
