Tucker raised his eyebrows.

Why is the useless person here?

Naturally, Tucker was forced to inquire who exactly had dealt the fatal blow and crippled Shaun.

“Alright, I understand. I'll be right there. Please have the doctor wait outside the infirmary. I have a few questions for him.”

“Yes.”

Philip said nonchalantly, “Since Mr. Carter is eager to find out who messed with him, you should go have a good talk with him.”

“Don't worry, Father, I will take care of it.” Having said that, Tucker turned around and prepared to leave.

Philip suddenly thought of something and added, “Send someone to investigate the background of that young man, or look into Shaun's background. Check to see if there's any connection between them. Perhaps they have some grudges or deep animosity.”

“Alright.”

Meanwhile, at the infirmary. A crisp, crackling sound echoed throughout the hospital ward. A moment later, two doctors rushed out of the room while clutching their blood-drenched heads in their hands.

“Mr. Carter has gone mad, completely mad! He's hitting everything he sees!”

The bodyguards who stood at the entrance exchanged glances. They pushed the door open and entered. A few seconds later, a hoarse roar rang out.

“Who dared to scheme against me? Who crippled me? I swear I'll devour them alive, crush their bones, and scatter their ashes.”

When Tucker arrived, he heard Shaun's howl and couldn't help the smile that crept across his lips.

The attending doctor approached him and nodded.

He said, “Mr. Hoffman, Mr. Carter's injuries have been taken care of.”

Tucker hummed lightly before asking, “What's the situation? Is he completely crippled?”

The attending doctor's mouth twitched slightly. He had never witnessed something so terrible before. It was truly horrifying.

He had to make dozens of stitches, and still, he had barely managed to reattach the organ. As for properly performing as a man in the future, it was difficult to even think about it.

“It's quite unfortunate. Please forgive my limited medical skills. I was unable to restore him to his original state.”

Tucker smiled faintly. Even if things could return to how they were before, he could not allow something like that to happen. If Shaun was not crippled, he would never aim the blade of vengeance at the Saviors.

Only by sacrificing him would he go fight against Bailey.

“Alright, I understand. Then, please take good care of him. Remember, even if he becomes disabled, or even if a miracle might happen in the future, you must let him remain disabled. Do you understand?”

The doctor hurriedly agreed. Tucker entered the ward and saw Shaun being held down on the bed by several bodyguards. When he saw that the other man was roaring angrily, the look of amusement in his eyes grew stronger.

“Mr. Carter, I'm really sorry. I never expected that the vice-leader of the Saviors would also take a liking to the little bunny. You know that kid. He comes and goes without a trace. I was not ready for him, and he just took advantage of the situation right in front of my eyes. I'm sorry.”

Abruptly, Shaun ceased his violet struggle. After a brief moment of shock, he roared, “Are you saying the person from last night was the vice-leader of the Saviors, Veikko?”

“Yes, it's him. The mastiffs...”

As soon as the word “mastiff” was mentioned, Shaun reacted savagely. He gritted his teeth and said, “Don't you dare mention the jerk in front of me.”

“Okay, okay. I looked into it thoroughly. The person who saved the little bunny last night and attacked you was Veikko indeed. If you don't believe me, you can—”

Before Tucker could finish speaking, a phone nearby started ringing. Tucker gave the bodyguard beside him a look. Understanding Tucker's intentions, the bodyguard picked up the phone and picked up the call. He held the phone to Shaun's ear.

“Mr. Carter, I've investigated thoroughly. The one who released the mastiff to attack you last night was the vice-leader of the Saviors, Veikko. He is fond of Ms. Caridee, and upon learning of your intentions toward her, he brought his subordinates to the International Socialite Gala.”

Shaun was so furious that he felt as if his brain was about to explode. He grabbed the bodyguard's phone and threw it at the wall across the room. After a moment of silence, he suddenly thought of something.

He glared at Tucker and angrily demanded, “The woman is the daughter of the Luther family? Tucker, why you didn't tell me? What are your intentions?”

Tucker grew slightly anxious and explained quickly, “I really didn't know about this because I had someone else handle it. I thought she was just an ordinary socialite. I figured since you're the head of the Carter family, it would be her good fortune if you took an interest in her.”

Shaun clenched his eyes shut, trembling with anger. His fists were tightly gripped as the raging fury spread uncontrollably throughout the hospital ward. He did not want to dwell on those trivial matters any longer. All he wanted now was to seek revenge. He only wanted to avenge his fallen “brethren.”

“Mr. Tucker, I can't endure this resentment. You wanted to cooperate with me, right? Now that I'm going against the Saviors, you should lend me a hand.”

Tucker raised his eyebrows.

The fish finally took the bait.

“It might be quite troublesome to deal with the Saviors. Their leader is not someone you'd want to mess with. Veikko is under her protection, so it's quite difficult if you want to make a move on him.”

The leader of the Saviors?

Shaun narrowed his eyes slightly. After a moment of silence, he gritted his teeth and asked, “I've heard some rumors before. They say that Bailey is the Saviors' leader. Is that true?”

Shaking his head, Tucker replied, “I'm not so sure about that, but Bailey should be coming to Moranta within the next few days. Why don't we send someone to investigate her and see if she'll make contact with the people from the Saviors?”
