Caridee closed her eyes in fright.

She had known Veikko for quite some time, but she had never seen such a terrifying side of him before. In the past, she had always regarded him as a young man because they were of similar age. As she looked at the most authentic version of him at this moment, she suddenly realized with astonishment that this man was a presence that could influence the world.

He was a heroic figure, a true man, not the young boy who showed tenderness in front of her. Mindy was undoubtedly going to die, as she couldn't persuade him otherwise.

As for the others, she dared not to stop him even more. Mindy's pupils were violently constricting, and a series of sharp screams poured out of her mouth.

“Don't kill me, don't kill me. I was wrong...”

An unidentified liquid spread across the ground. It seemed that she couldn't handle such stimulation and was scared to the point of wetting herself.

At that moment, a black sedan sped toward them and came to a halt right in front of Veikko. The person in the car didn't get out. A cold, clear female voice echoed through the quiet, empty street.

“Veikko, she's the branch leader of the Saviors' daughter. If you just kill her like that, how are we going to explain this to Mr. Xydias? If I were you, I would throw her into the torture chamber and let her experience the penal code the Saviors have established. If you fire this shot, she'll die on the spot, causing trouble for you and not even satisfying your desire for revenge. It's not worth it.”

Veikko hesitated for a few seconds, but eventually, he slowly withdrew the gun. It wasn't that he had a sudden change of heart and decided to be merciful. It was because Bailey had spoken up, and he had no choice but to act this way.

No one else would have such influence. Even if Caridee pleaded, he wouldn't listen. However, things were different with Bailey. He respected and honored her, and he would obey every word she said and every command she issued.

Caridee felt the surrounding negative energy gradually dissipating. She couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

She struggled to lift her hand, grasping Veikko's trembling palm, leaning against his chest, and whispered, “I'm so tired. Let me sleep for a while.”

Veikko completely snapped out of his murderous rage, scooped her up in his arms, and strode toward the car.

“Throw this woman into the torture chamber and let them treat her well. If Mr. Xydias has any objections, let him come to me personally.”

A few black-clad bodyguards immediately responded and walked toward Mindy.

Veikko added, “Today, everyone involved in this operation should be thrown into the torture chamber. Not a single one should escape.”

“Yes.”

Veikko carried Caridee into the carriage and then swiftly pulled the door shut. After placing her on the chair, he hurriedly said to Bailey.

“Bailey, can you help me check her wounds? She's lost a lot of blood.”

As he spoke these words, his voice trembled ever so slightly. Bailey held his hand and reassured him.

“I'm here. She'll be fine. Don't worry. Calm down and think about what to do next. Don't lose your composure over a small matter.”

After saying that, she bent down to examine Caridee's injuries.

“Help me pry her mouth open. I'll pour in a bit of the hemostatic drug first to stop the bleeding.”

Artemis hurriedly stepped in, gently prying her lips apart. Caridee's tongue continued to bleed, filling her mouth with a strong taste of blood. Seeing her in such a state, a hint of coldness flashed in his eyes.

The Carter family? In a month, it will cease to exist.

Bailey took out the spare hemostatic drug from her pocket, poured it into Caridee's mouth, and then helped her wipe the bloodstain off her chin. Veikko reminded.

“There's still a dart in the calf. Although the wound is not very deep, it has injured the artery and has been bleeding continuously.”

Bailey hurriedly crouched down and used her dagger to cut and tear open her pant. As she saw the dart in her flesh, her expression gradually darkened.

“I thought she just bit her tongue, but I didn't expect her to be hit by a dart too. I shouldn't have stopped you earlier. That woman deserves to die.”

Veikko reached out to push the car door.

“She hasn't left yet. I'm going to finish her off.” Bailey glared at him.

“All the more reason for you to let her experience the punishment devices in the torture chamber. Death would be too easy for her.”

After saying that, she sat back down in the chair.

Veikko frowned as he looked at her, pointing to the dart on Caridee's calf, and asked, “Aren't you going to pull it out?”

“Once it's pulled out from the artery, the blood vessel will definitely rupture. There are no sutures in the car to stitch it up. It will undoubtedly kill her. We must hurry back to the base and perform surgery to remove it.”

At this moment, Caridee gradually regained consciousness from her stupor. The moment she saw Bailey, her tears began to flow uncontrollably once again.

“Bailey...” Bailey held her hand gently and said softly, “If your tongue hurts, don't speak. Wait until it's healed before talking again.”

Caridee cried.

“Is Artemis really dead?”

Bailey subconsciously looked at Artemis, only to realize that he was wearing a mask, which was why Caridee didn't recognize him.

It's actually a good thing she didn't recognize him. This girl is so innocent that she might accidentally let the information slip out if she knew he wasn't dead.
