Veikko paused in his footsteps and turned to look at her.

“Do you have something else to say?” he asked.

Bailey furrowed her brows and asked, “You've completely fallen out with Shaun. How do you plan to deal with him?”

Veikko smiled coldly and said lightly, “The current him is like a madman. Let him go crazy, let him bite his friends and family around him. It's easy to die. We can gather a group of people and storm his place, ending him. But I don't want to do it that way. I want to let him live a life worse than death.” Bailey nodded.

“That works too. Let's put aside that jerk now and focus on dealing with Sofie and Mr. Philip. You should go back and reorganize the forces of the Saviors. Lock up Mindy in the Prudent Hall and see his reaction. If he doesn't give up easily, create some evidence of his misconduct, remove him from his position, and let you temporarily take the position of Mr. Xydias. We're all in Moranta now, and I can't trust others with matters of life and death. It's better to have someone from within our ranks in control.”

Veikko nodded.

“I understand. Be careful, and I'll head back first. Contact me directly if you need anything.”

“Okay.” After watching Veikko leave, Bailey turned back to look at Caridee on the bed and sighed silently.

She was such a good girl, and now she had been reduced to this state. It was truly heartbreaking.

Suburban mansion. Inside the infirmary. Shaun leaned against the bedside and swiped everything off the nightstand.

“That useless Tucker couldn't even capture a woman. What use is he to me?”

The bodyguards kept their distance, allowing him to vent his anger.

At this critical moment, anyone who approached him was asking for death.

“Mr. Carter, Ms. Lindsey has arrived.”

“I don't want to see her. Tell her-” Before he could finish his sentence, he immediately held back his words.

Lindsey?

He remembered Lindsey had a crush on Edmund, so she had gotten close to Bailey. Now that Caridee was by Bailey's side, perhaps he could use her to infiltrate Bailey's residence and lure Caridee out.

“Let her in.”

After a moment, Lindsey rushed in from outside.

“Shaun, are you okay? They said you-”

Shaun coldly stared at her.

“They said what about me?” Lindsey became fearful of her elder brother and quickly shook her head.

“Nothing, nothing. Now that I see you're fine, I feel relieved.”

Shaun asked in a cold and eerie tone, “Weren't you chasing after a man in Hallsbay? Why did you come to Moranta?”

At the mention of this, Lindsey's expression gradually darkened.

“He doesn't like me.”

Shaun gave a disdainful snort and spoke in a menacing tone, “That's because the person he longs for is still alive. If that woman in his heart were to die, I assure you he would gradually accept you.”

A glimmer of hope flashed in Lindsey's eyes.

That's right, once that woman is no longer around, he will eventually move on and consider accepting me. But he loves Bailey. If Bailey were so easily disposed of, she would have perished countless times already, considering the number of people who have targeted her.

“Shaun, I can't compete with Bailey.”

“Have you even tried? You won't know if you can't surpass her until you make an effort. Now that Artemis is gone and has lost her will to live, you can be by her side, waiting for the right moment to strike a fatal blow. Once she's no more...”

Lindsey remained silent.

“That's all I have to say. Whether you want to fight for it or not is up to you. If Edmund still has feelings for you, it will be easier for me to propose a marriage alliance on behalf of the Carter family. But if he doesn't have you in his heart, no matter what I say, it will be in vain. The only way to make him open his heart to you is by eliminating Bailey from his life.”

Lindsey lowered her head, her voice trembling as she replied, “I... I'll consider it and give my answer to you in a few days.”

Shaun lazily leaned against the bedside, instructing the guard at the door, “Ms. Lindsey has been on a long flight. She must be tired. Take her to rest.”

“Yes.”

Once the guard escorted Lindsey away, Shaun turned to the person dressed in black beside him.

He commanded, “Arrange a few housekeeper to provoke her in Bailey's presence, fueling her discontent and turning it into hatred. Push her to become enemies with Bailey.”

“Understood.”

At the Saviors branch. Inside the study. Veikko lounged on the sofa, raising an eyebrow as he observed Travis standing in the center of the room.

He smirked and spoke calmly, “Mr. Xydias, did you come here to look for someone?”
