Bailey didn't react immediately and blankly said, “What else could I've done it for? Thrill-seeking?”

The moment she uttered the phrase “thrill-seeking,” she snapped to her senses and blushed. The older he gets, the more shameless he is!

Artemis knew what she was thinking. With his deep, magnetic voice, he murmured, “It is about seeking thrills. With it, you'll experience a different kind of pleasure.”

Bailey felt as if something had exploded in her mind. This jerk. To think he managed to come up with that. Although, it is undeniable that having it does feel different.

“Judging by your expression, it seems you agree with what I've said. My dear, I didn't expect you to have such thoughts. In that case, what's there for you to be shy about?”

With a swift slap, Bailey sent him flying back against the headboard. “Be serious. What do you think Sofie will do next?”

Artemis blinked, a cunning glint flashing in his eyes. “She will kill Tucker because Tucker is planning to take her son's life. Of course, even if Tucker doesn't lay a finger on her son, she'll never let him off the hook. With the death of Tucker, the only option left for Mr. Philip is to support her son's ascension to power. Once her son becomes the heir, she will not hesitate to kill Mr. Philip. That woman refuses to be mediocre. What she detests most is others suppressing her. Therefore, she will kill Mr. Philip and his son. After her son ascends to power, she'll rule behind the curtain and manipulate him, further controlling the entire Hoffman family.”

Bailey nodded with a smile. “It's just as I guessed. We should let them fight amongst themselves and stay out of the battle. Once they've worn each other down, we can step in and clean up the mess.”

After she finished speaking, she prepared to stand up and pack up her medical kit. Suddenly, he pulled her arm.

In the next moment, she leaned forward, falling directly into his arms. “Artemis, have you lost your mind? Your wounds haven't healed yet.”

“It's fine. It's just a minor injury,” assured Artemis.

Bailey rolled her eyes before a mischievous glint appeared. “All right, then. You asked for this. Don't blame me later.”

Seeing her so well-behaved, he was overjoyed.

However, his good mood only lasted for thirty seconds because he smelled the scent of blood. Is she... having her period right now? “Bailey, you did this on purpose, didn't you?”

Bailey burst into laughter. “How can you say I did it on purpose? I had my period during the morning, okay?”

Artemis extended his hand to push her away, pointing at the bedroom door. “Leave. Stop hanging around in front of me.”

“Fine. I'll just leave.”

Bailey stepped away from his embrace and walked toward the door. As she walked, she said, “You should rest well. Once your wounds have healed, we can set off for Moranta to reap the benefits.”

Shannon was gently supporting Micah in his garden as they stroll leisurely by the artificial lake.

After taking a few dozen steps, Micah casually asked, “Which city are you planning to take Dawn to live in?”

Shannon fell into silence.

Micah then said, “Even if you don't tell me, I'll still know. Why not chat with me? I may be able to give you...”

“Pillere.” Shannon turned to him, her voice indifferent. “I like lavender. I might go to Pillere and bathe in a sea of purple flowers.”

Micah chuckled softly. The warm and peaceful purple kingdom is indeed a good place to settle down. “It's a nice place. If I happen to pass by your house one afternoon, will you invite me in for a cup of afternoon tea?”

An almost imperceptible smile appeared on Shannon's countenance.

Before she could speak, footsteps echoed from afar.

Both of them instinctively turned around and saw Wendy leading Dawn toward them. “Mommy, Aunt Wendy is here to see you.”

Wendy felt resigned upon hearing that. “Dawn, you should call me Ms. Wendy. Ms. Hoffman is fine, too.”

Dawn blinked and grinned, saying, “Uncle Holden may get angry, though.”

Shannon couldn't help but laugh out loud. “Yes, you should call her Aunt Wendy. Otherwise, your uncle will be unhappy.”

Dawn shrugged at Wendy. “See? My mom says the same thing.”

Wendy couldn't help but laugh too. Turning to Shannon, she said, “You've raised quite the dramatic daughter. Still, she's quite likable.”
