Chapter 200
The layout and furnishings of the guest rooms in Seymour Mansion were all identical, even the bed sheets and covers were the exact same shade of white.
Larissa was momentarily confused. She felt as if she was in her old room where she had slept for over ten years.
Yvette was reclining on a bed that was placed in the center of the guest room.
Her sallow cheeks had sunken in more since the last time they’d met, and her complexion appeared jaundiced.
She was wearing an expensive silk nightgown, her long hair hanging loose.
In the dim light, she appeared even more haggard.
“Mom! Larissa is back!” Lana exclaimed happily.
Yvette’s eyes welled up with tears.
“Larissa…” Her voice choked as she reached out her hand toward Larissa. “Come to me quickly so that I can take a look at you!”
However, Larissa stood rooted at the spot, afraid to approach her mother.

She was afraid that as soon as she came closer, Yvette would transform into the sinister monster who tormented her during childhood,
pushing her to the ground and viciously beating her up.
Needless to say, Yvette noticed the fear and wariness in Larissa’s eyes as well.
“Larissa She lowered her hand weakly, tears dripping onto the blanket. “All these years, I have wronged you.”
Larissa watched her in silence, not saying word.
“I know that no matter how much I say or do now, I cannot make up for the harm that I’ve caused you in the past.” Yvette clenched the blanket with her hands and squeezed out a forced smile on her face. “As long as you are still willing to meet me, I am content.”
Lana grabbed Larissa’s hand and begged pleadingly, with tears running down her cheeks, “Larissa, please forgive Mommy! It’s her
greatest wish!”
Pursing her pale, thin lips, Yvette fixed a gaze full of anticipation on Larissa.
But Larissa couldn’t bring herself to forgive Yvette.
The physical and me ntal harm Yvette had caused her was beyond forgiveness, even Yvette’s death couldn’t erase the trauma she had to
bear.
“Now that we’ve met, I’ll be leaving,” Larissa said coldly before turning away, but Lana stopped her.
“Larissa, please don’t leave like this!” Lana sobbed uncontrollably. “Since you’ve finally come back, please spend more time with Mommy!”
Yvette burst into tears as well. “That’s right! Larissa, I don’t know how much longer I have to live. Why don’t you stay put and accompany
me until my last breath?”
Larissa almost gave in when she heard Yvette speak of her illness with such gravity.
She quickly caught herself. Larissa knew that she couldn’t back down too quickly, otherwise, these two women would surely take advantage of her kindness.
