Sweet Subterfuge

Chapter 472

Chapter 472
Larissa had been sticking to a regular routine for some time now in order to take care of Aster. But this time, her sleep quality had dropped, and she unexpectedly got a headache. She wasn’t sure if it was a sign of getting older or simply leading an overly comfortable life before.
Her temples throbbed persistently, accompanied by nausea and chest tightness. As a result, she couldn’t focus during the meeting and couldn’t recall what others had said.
After she instructed her secretary to make a photocopy of the meeting minutes for her, she headed downstairs alone. Her headache became unbearable, and she urgently needed to visit the pharmacy to purchase a box of painkillers.
There were quests going through the check-in process at the front desk, which was a common sight in hotels. She merely glanced at them and continued walking but stopped when she heard the words “presidential suite”.
The Winston Hotel, being a five-star hotel rivaling Regal Dynasty Hotel naturally offered presidential suites. Regrettably, the suites had remained unoccupied since the hotel’s grand opening until now.

She did not rush over. Instead, she stood her ground and listened attentively to the conversation at the front desk. Only after confirming that the guest had indeed reserved the suite did she put on a smile and quickly turned.
There were two men at the front desk, one taller than the other. The taller one looked younger, perhaps in his twenties or thirties, while the shorter one had a touch of gray at his temples and looked like he was in his lities. It was clear that the taller man held a subordinate position because he appeared somewhat restrained and respectful toward the shorter man.
Larissa reached out to the shorter man and said. “Hello, sir. I’m Larissa, the general manager of the Winston Hotel. Welcome to our hotel.”
The man glanced at her casually and abruptly froze. The next moment, he broke into a delightful smile. “Hey. It’s your he exclaimed. gripping her hand tightly.
She was taken aback by his behavior. Had she not known that he was an important quest of the hotel, she might have thought he was a weirdo. Her smile gradually stiffened, and she fought the urge to pull her hand away.
“I’m sorry. Have we met before?” She scrutinized him carefully and thought that he indeed looked familiar, but she was unable to recall
where she had seen him.
The man seemed disappointed. “You’ve forgotten? You saved me on the plane to the States six years ago.”
Larissa finally remembered the incident with his reminder. However, she had forgotten entirely what the person looked like or what his name was. The incident happened years ago, and she hadn’t paid much attention to it. But that didn’t stop her from trying to establish a connection. “Oh, it’s you! What a coincidence!”
