Should she let him in? Larissa questioned herself as well. She didn’t want to see him-or rather, she didn’t want to see anyone. All she

After her assistant left, she picked up the mouse from the ground. The battery, along with the cover, had been knocked ofL and there was even a cr ack on its surface. Frustrated, she muttered under her breath and threw everything she was holding into the trash bin.
The door was opened once again. Gary and Lewis entered her office, one after another. She wasn’t prepared m entally when she caught sight of Gary. So, her body froze, and her heartbeat involuntarily quickened. She lowered her head intentionally, avoiding eye contact with Gary. After taking a deep breath, she mustered a faint smile and asked, “Is there anything I can help you with, Mr. Logan?”

Gary observed her silently. His gaze was not intense but was impossible to ignore. “I’ve concluded the business with Soaring Corporation and have to return to Aldavia to handle some matters.”
“Oh?” Larissa fell a bit flustered. She had just found out that he was her biological father, and they hadn’t even acknowledged each other yet. And now, in the blink of an eye, they were going to part ways again. Naturally, she didn’t want him to go, but she couldn’t find the
words to keep him. More importantly, she lacked a valid reason to do so.
Regardless of whether Gary had been made aware of her existence or not, Yvette had made it clear just moments ago, but he showed no intention of acknowledging her.
The painful experiences from her childhood made her crave familial love, yet she didn’t dare to hope for it.
So, she decided to leave the initiative in his hands. Il he wanted to pretend not to know, she would never shatter that illusion.
“Okay.” She lorced herself to calm down and asked in a professional tone. “When are you leaving? Do you need me to arrange a car to take you to the airport?
“I leave early tomorrow morning. There’s no need for a car. But tonight — would you be free to have dinner with me? He looked at her with anticipation in his eyes.
“It would be my pleasure.” She smiled, although it lelt a bit forced. He had already noticed something was amiss with her, but he didn’t dwell on it, thinking it was simply Yvelle’s disturbance that put her in a bad mood.
