“Ruby deceived me! I won’t let her get away with this!” Violet’s lace turned red with anger.
“Enough!” Anthony grabbed her hand and sterly rebuked her, “That’s not the most important thing now.” He turned his gaze toward Kevan and continued, “Even though Bethany isn’t your biological daughter, she’s still a human life. Not to mention we have formed a bond with her through the time we spent together. We just can’t stand there and do nothing, especially considering the fact that she was kidnapped because of you.”
“I’ll take care of this matter. You both don’t need to worry.” Kevan assured them.
His father had always trusted him, Besides, he couldn’t control his adult son anymore. “Alright then, we won’t have much to worry about.”

Anthony burned and glanced at his wife, who was still in a state of shock and anger. He removed his glasses from the bridge of his nose and rubbed his throbbing temples. “I’m exhausted.” He stood up and pulled Violet in the direction of the stairs. “Let’s go upstairs and rest. It’s getting late. Kevan, stay here tonight.”
However, Kevan didn’t stay behind. He had many things to attend to, and also, it was inconvenient for him to stay there.
Jack relayed the message that Ron hadn’t received the money in the afternoon and had met with lan before returning to the outskirts.

“Ron has had a few drinks in the evening and seems to be intoxicated. He’s now hitting Bethany.” Jack reported the situation to Kevan Immediately. “Are you certain that you don’t want us to intervene?”
Kevan could sense Jack’s unease. After all, as a police officer, Jack possessed an extra sense of sympathy and responsibility toward the weak and vulnerable. Even though Kevan was not at the scene to witness it firsthand, he could still imagine how brutal someone like Jack

“Yes, I am.” Kevan remained firm in his stance. “Ron won’t really do harm to Bethany.” He was very confident about this. After all Ron was hired by someone. As long as Xavier didn’t order Ron to harm Bethany, Ron would never dare to take her life. As for Xavier, he wouldn’t dare to let Bethany die before receiving the money.
