Jay would give her one of his penetrating gazes when he would notice she had gone silent or acting differently. As if he was trying to decipher the look in her eyes. Although she knew she couldn't leave his side until he had fully recovered, that didn’t stop her from cursing him inwardly.

Her mind frequently reminded her how tiresome it was to stay with this evil man. She’d rather die than to stay here with him for another minute.

All she wanted was to get away from him and have her freedom again. It was like she was forcefully stuck with him.
