Though James was ambushed, he had been secretly gathering strength to deal the death blow the moment Lucifer lowered his guard.

He tried to roll over. However, as his spine was shattered, not to mention that his injuries were grave, he felt excruciating pain throughout his body the moment he moved. Even though he had cultivated his physical body for a long time, he could not endure the pain.

So, he lay on the ground and rested.
