The waiter looked a bit surprised. “You’re too kind, miss.”

Allison changed into her new outfit, a canary yellow maxi dress covered in hand-embroidered butterflies with lace patches at the hem. She stood in front of the mirror, twirling around, making the embroidered butterflies look as if they would take flight from the dress.

The yellow dress shone even brighter against her delicate skin.

Her face was bare and makeup-free, yet the complex dress didn’t seem overly formal.

Her phone began to vibrate in her bag.

Allison went to get it, glanced at the battery life – 20%, and answered the call, “Hello?”

‘Awake yet?” came Lucian’s deep, sexy voice from the other end.

“Yep, just woke up.”

‘Eaten?”

‘Not yet, about to.”

‘The dress I sent you, you tried it on?”

‘I did.” Allison paused for a moment. “Thank you, it’s beautiful.”
