Penelope woke up three days later in the afternoon.

The Lindberg family got the news and rushed over immediately.

Miranda looked at Penelope lying in the hospital bed, feeling incredibly grateful.

Penelope saved her life and now she was in this state – her legs and arms broken, suffering from a moderate concussion, multiple bruises all over her body. And to top it off, she had lost her baby.

Penelope’s gaze landed on Lucian. Her lips trembled, “Lucian, I’m sorry. I couldn’t protect our child.”

Lucian took her hand, “Penelope, don’t worry about it now. Just rest.”

Penelope closed her eyes, tears spilling from the corners.
