Lucy had been itching to ask the question, restraining herself until Thalassa was seated at the dinner table. She couldn’t care less whether Thalassa was going to eat the food or not.

Inviting Thalassa to lunch was just a ruse, a courtesy for Bruce’s sake. If Lucy had it her way, she’d march right over to Thalassa’s place, grab her by the hair, and demand to know what she was up to with Bruce last night!

Bruce hadn’t come home all evening, leaving Lucy tossing and turning, a sleepless mess.

She’d called him repeatedly in the early hours; he didn’t pick up. Later, when she called again, his phone was conveniently switched off.
