Chapter 1066

The hospital room was fraught with a palpable tension. Amelia’s voice was demanding. Lysander stood there, a silent sentinel, his aura icy and restrained. Despite his efforts to keep Amelia at bay, it was clear from the sharp, frostbitten contours of his face that a tempest of rage was brewing beneath the surface, held back only by his formidable self-control.

Just a moment before, the doctor had been dispensing advice to Thalassa with a breezy tone and reminding her of the precautions she needed to take during her pregnancy.

But now, Amelia burst into the room, frantic and demanding to know if the child Thalassa was carrying belonged to another man.

The easy atmosphere was shattered.

The doctor, sensing the icy chill emanating from Lysander, was petrified to come any closer. It felt as if Lysander cold presence alone could freeze the entire room.

With a voice trembling with fear, the doctor quickly excused himself. “It seems you have some family matters to attend to. I’ll leave you be. Call me if you need anything.”

He gave them a cursory nod and fled the room as if any delay might trap him in the crossfire of their domestic crisis.
