Chapter 1094

Three days later, Thalassa was discharged from the hospital. She headed to the office, feeling guilty for having missed several days of work.

Ethan hummed a tune while passed by the secretary’s office on his way to his own workspace. Suddenly, he stopped, doubled back, and leaned against the door frame, eyes wide with surprise as he spotted Thalassa inside. “Well, I’ll be damned, Thalassa, you’re actually back at work?”

At the sound of his voice, Thalassa turned to see Ethan with an astonished look on his face. She sheepishly said, “I skipped work for four days, Mr. Ethan. Feel free to deduct whatever amount from my salary, no need to hold back.”

Ethan chuckled as he sauntered in, casually crossing his arms over his chest. He leaned back against her desk and looked at her, “You call that skipping work? More like sending me on a roller coaster of emotions.”

Thalassa’s sudden disappearance with her children and the global manhunt initiated by Lysander had scared the daylights out of Ethan. If she hadn’t been found, Lysander would’ve come knocking, demanding answers from him. As her employer, it was his responsibility to keep track of her whereabouts.

If Lysander had set his sights on Ethan for answers, he might’ve ended up like David, who had somehow crossed Lysander and got shipped off to Afriland. Just the thought made Ethan shudder; David’s month-long ordeal in Afriland was an unforgettable experience given the merciless conditions.
