Chapter 1262

Callum’s smile faded, and a shadow seemed to dance across his eyes, casting a solemn hue over his usually gentle features.

Unaware of the shift in his demeanor, Thalassa picked up her fork and said, “Let’s eat. I’m starving.”

She forked a piece of fish, tasted it, and nodded in approval. “It’s good. Not too salty, not too bland. Just perfect.”

Noticing Callum hadn’t started eating, Thalassa asked politely, “Mr. Gordon, why aren’t you eating? Is something wrong with the food?”

Callum’s eyes softened, masking the earlier intensity, and he smiled warmly. “No, I was just lost in thought for a moment.”

With that, he picked up his fork, deliberately avoiding the fish and opting for other dishes instead.

After dinner, Evelyn mentioned she needed to rest, so Thalassa linked arms with her as they made their way to the hotel elevator. Their rooms were on the 20th floor, so they’d have to ride up.

Callum also decided to retire, and the three of them stepped into the elevator together. Thalassa pressed the button for the 20th floor.

Callum hadn’t made a move to select a floor for a while, so Thalassa turned to him, “Mr. Gordon, aren’t you going to press your floor?”
