Two months ago, Hertha had been in a terrible car accident that landed her in the hospital for surgery. Thankfully, she had come out of it with her life intact. After a two-week stay in the medical center, she was discharged, with Bridget taking on the role of caregiver.

During that time, Thalassa had her hands full tending to Lysander and couldn't find a moment to visit Hertha. She wondered how her friend was faring in her recovery.

"I'm up and about, feeling pretty good, actually. Just that my head tends to hurt like the dickens from time to time," Hertha said.

"Your biggest issue was the concussion," Thalassa reminded her. "You're supposed to take it easy for six months. Don't you go taking that lightly."

"Yeah, I'm on leave from work for half a year. I had this big design project I was working on, and the office is breathing down my neck to get back and hand over the drafts. But every time I so much as think too hard, my head starts throbbing something fierce. How am I supposed to get any designs out?" Hertha lamented.

She couldn't afford to lose her job. With two kids to feed and Bridget's salary to cover, unemployment would mean her children going hungry and having to let Bridget go. Without her, there would be no one to look after the little ones.

Wouldn't that just be piling on the misery?

Having been through her own share of tough times, Thalassa understood Hertha's predicament all too well. A concussion was no joking matter; poor recovery could leave lifelong consequences, or worse, cost you your life.

Thalassa pondered for a moment and then offered, "If you trust me with it, I can work on the designs for you. Once they're ready, you can give them to your company."
