David had just fired up the engine when he heard Rosalind's words. He promptly hit the brakes and stuck his head out the window. "Hop in!" he called out to her. Rosalind pushed open the passenger door and climbed into David's car, settling into the front seat.

"My car was totally fine until you mentioned it might be broken. And then, just like that, it actually broke down. How do you explain your uncanny accuracy?" Rosalind complained, a hint of frustration in her tone David, slightly embarrassed, grinned. "Just a coincidence."

"That's one heck of a coincidence. Working so closely with Lysander, I bet these 'coincidences' happen more than just occasionally. No wonder Lysander trusts you so much," Rosalind said, a playful smile dancing on her lips.

David tightly gripped the steering wheel, sparing her a glance before asking, "You really like Mr. Sinclair, huh?"

"Of course, I've had a crush on him since my teenage years. It's just a shame that back then, he only had eyes for my sister and couldn't see me at all," Rosalind affirmed.

Her eyes sparkled differently at the mention of Lysander, filled with longing and admiration.

David nodded silently, wanting to advise her to give up. Her fondness for Lysander was bound to be a journey of disappointment. It would be better to let go sooner rather than later to avoid unnecessary heartache.
