As Joshua approached Lysander, he cast a fleeting glance at Thalassa, too preoccupied to pay her any mind, and greeted Lysander with an earnest smile. It was as though Lysander was some sort of miracle worker, capable of solving any issue that came his way.

At that moment, Reginald turned to look their way. Ever since he found out that Joshua's scheme to marry Lysander off to Rosalind was a ploy to hand over the Whitman Group to him, Reginald's inner thoughts about Lysander had soured, marking him as a rival.

Now, as Lysander approached, Reginald's gaze was filled with barely concealed animosity.

Lysander, however, couldn't be bothered with Reginald's stares. He looked straight at Joshua and simply said, "Let's check it out."

Pushing him forward, Thalassa made her way to the doorway, only to be confronted with a harrowing sight.

Susan was perched precariously at an unguarded window, one hand clutching her toddler tightly and the other gripping the window sill. A slip could send them both tumbling down.

The child, terrified, clung to Susan's dress with white-knuckled fingers, too scared to even cry, teetering on the edge of panic.
