She never thought she visited him out of pity or sympathy for his misfortunes.

Thalassa could feel the anger radiating off Lysander, but unlike the chilling fury from three years ago that would make one's blood run cold, this was more like a normal man's frustration mixed with a touch of grievance and reproach.

It was a genuine reproach directed at Thalassa's intentions, without any other emotions involved.

Staring at his handsome face, just inches away, Thalassa nervously explained, "Hehe, I did come, didn't I? And you're still the father of my children, aren't you?"

That was a close call. If she hadn't gone that time, her kids might have ended up with a stepmom by now.

Seeing her own kids wouldn't be that easy for her, their mother.

Mentioning the kids, some of the sharpness in Lysander's aura dissipated, and he loosened the grip on her chin, "At least you have some conscience. Saturday is coming up; are you ready?" "Mhm, I've been preparing all of Elowen's favorite foods, and I've bought clothes and toys that I think the kids will love." Thalassa's eyes sparkled at the thought of seeing her children on Saturday. "Mm," Lysander grunted, his gaze deep and focused ahead.

Upon returning to Royal Estates, Lysander headed to his study and called David, "I need you to dig into the bombing of Thalassa's family home three years ago. Don't miss a single detail." Alaric slept through the night, his head heavy and his nose congested.

In those few hours, he had numerous nightmares, all of them terrifying, fighting to break free.
