Hertha's eyes flickered with irritation at the mention of Georgia. Hearing that name, she couldn't help but feel angry.

Who would be so cruel as to hire a child from an orphanage, pretending he was Alaric's son, just to blackmail Alaric into marrying her? How deep were Georgia's feelings for Alaric that she would resort to such desperate measures to become his wife?

And what about Alaric? Was he truly oblivious to the fact that the boy wasn't his son, or was he just playing dumb in front of her? Hertha's mind was a whirlwind of confusion. She couldn't see through Georgia's actions or even begin to guess at Alaric's thoughts. But she was naturally lazy when it came to overthinking. If she couldn't figure out what Alaric was thinking, she wouldn't bother trying. "Alright, I've got it. You go get some rest. We should all head to bed," Hertha said, avoiding Alaric's gaze and moving towards the children. "Mummy, please don't send Daddy away," Helena pleaded, tugging at Alaric's sleeve with her big, doe-like eyes filled with reluctance.

She hadn't had enough time with her daddy yet.

Alaric knew when to take his leave gracefully. Hertha's last words to him were polite and reasonable.

It was indeed getting late, and the kids had their bedtime routines. He couldn't keep them up any longer.
