Chapter 848

Isaac couldn’t bear to think about what Brittany had endured over those five years, and he dared not ponder what would become of him if she ever left him again.

Brittany caught the scent of his unease, a flicker of hesitation crossing her eyes before she finally spoke, “All that’s in the past; I’ve moved on.”

Isaac kissed the lobe of her ear, a gesture devoid of lust, imbued instead with an emotion akin to guilty.
