During the years without Everett, Kenneth had been living abroad with Langston. Given the gratitude owed, Kenneth could easily have coerced Dorothy into agreeing to be his girlfriend. He knew she would at least give it some thought if he asked. But he refrained from doing so, simply because he didn't want to put Dorothy in a difficult position. Such a man, Karen believed, would never use an antidote as leverage.

"Honey, don't be mad, I was just saying!"

"Even just saying isn't okay! Kenneth's love for Dorothy is pure, and now he's willing to put himself in danger for her. You can't talk like that!"

Jeffrey quickly nodded, realizing his mistake.

"I shouldn't have said that, sigh!"

Whether it was Everett or Kenneth, both were hopelessly romantic! They just hoped for a happy ending for everyone.
