When Langston got injured, Dorothy's routine, which previously was a simple back and forth, suddenly included frequent visits to the hospital.

Luckily, Langston was a strong guy and bounced back quickly, not giving Dorothy too much to worry about.

After spending a week in the hospital, Everett grew concerned that Langston might not be comfortable there and worried that Dorothy was overextending herself by running back and forth. So, he arranged for Langston to be discharged and continue his recovery at home, with a doctor making house calls daily. Once everything was settled, Dorothy noticed that Everett seemed busier than usual.

She wasn't sure what project he was working on, but sometimes, after picking her up from Trust-E, he'd rush off again.

"Everett, you really don't have to go out of your way to pick me up if you're swamped," she said.

Trust-E wasn't far from their temporary home. She could drive herself, or even walk if needed, it wasn't a big deal. "No way, I can't let you go home alone."

Dorothy was pregnant, and after the incident with Maxton, there was no way Everett would let her travel by herself.

"But you're running yourself ragged!" Dorothy protested, catching him as he was about to dash off again. She raised an eyebrow, "Has the Lopez Corporation taken on some big project? Is it a major deal?"
