"What's up?" Dorothy asked almost reflexively.

Dorothy rolled her eyes and took a seat, "Why all the secrecy? You're even keeping me in the dark?"

"Alright then." She didn't press further, completely trusting him.

After playing with Abigail and Langston for a while, Everett went to tuck them into bed in the kids' room before heading back to the master bedroom. Dorothy was busy giving instructions to a subordinate, gesticulating with her hands as if the other person could see her.
