Aurora raced to the hospital, heading straight for the room where Craig's mom was staying.

It was empty.

Her legs felt weak, but she forced herself to sprint towards the emergency room.

Sure enough, in front of those large doors, she spotted Craig standing alone.

He was slightly hunched, his gaze fixed on the door, seemingly oblivious to the footsteps behind him.

Aurora couldn't deny the pang in her heart.

Angry as she was, the sight of his forlorn silhouette weighed heavily on her.

"Craig..."

He stiffened for a moment before slowly turning around.

It was the same rugged, deep-set face, with furrowed brows and drooping eyelashes, revealing a faint trace of double eyelids. "Why are you here?"

"How could I not come when your mom's in trouble?" Aurora glanced at the emergency room's glowing red light. "Is it happening again?"

"Yeah." Craig stepped back, putting distance between them. "But you don't need to intervene. You should leave."
