Hector, fixated on the idea of his father’s demise, heard those words in a daze. His whole being was overwhelmed with uncontrollable excitement. When he responded, his emotions got the best of him.

Ricardo, on the other end of the line, couldn’t help but ask with some skepticism, “Hector, are you alright? Your father is in trouble. Why do you seem so pleased?”
