Chapter 179 Suddenly Feel A Bit More At Ease

Lysander threw a glance back at him, her lips curling into a hint of soft laughter. “What do you think?”

Zachary studied her expression carefully, then subtly shook his head, his voice tinged with realization, “I understand now.”

“Do you really?”

“Yes,” he added, breaking into the conversation with a reflective tone, “I suddenly feel a bit more at ease as well.”

Lysander shifted her gaze away, falling into a contemplative silence.

Zachary’s voice softened. “You may not have feelings for me, but it seems you didn’t have much affection for your ex–husband either. Ever since I heard about your divorce, you’ve seemed rather unfazed. If it were Michelle… I imagine she could have cried a hole in the sky by now.”

“What does that have to do with feeling at ease?”

Zachary let out a light chuckle, “By that logic, I’m toe–to–toe with a scion, right?”

“Are your legs feeling any better now?”

“Much better, thankfully. The pain has significantly subsided after applying some cold water.”

Earlier, when they had exited the car, Lysander had made a point to be the first one out.

There was a suitcase in the trunk, most likely Zachary’s, which probably contained a change of clothes.

She had waited there for a moment, and as expected, saw Zachary had changed into a pair of shorts by the time he walked over.

However, these shorts were quite loose and made from a slick material, looking more like they belonged to a sports uniform.

Kneeling down for a closer inspection, Lysander remarked, “Hmm, it’s still a bit swollen. It should go down in a few days. Just be extra careful these next few days, try not to let the burn rupture, or it could easily become infected.”
