I’ve been calling her, but no one’s answering. She’s a young girl, and it’s so dangerous for her to be out late at night.”

Maverick, infuriated, slammed his hand on the table. “No, I must go find her.”

Laura grabbed his arm. “Where are you going to look for her? Do you have any idea where she might be?”

“She didn’t bother mentioning it, considering how distracted she was. Before I could even finish my sentence, she had already left.”

Lysander said, “Let’s do this. You two should eat first. I know a few of her high school friends..I’ll ask them where they are gathering, and then I’ll go pick up Michelle.”
