Chapter 419 Do You Know What I Want
“I’m speaking to you as a doctor,” she replied.
With a chuckle, Josiah mocked, “This is the first time I’ve seen a doctor coming all the way to a billiard lounge to check on a patient.
Observing that he wasn’t in the mood to have a proper discussion with her, she decided not to beat around the bush anymore and stated bluntly, “I’m not here to check on anyone. I have some matters to discuss with you in private. It’s already past midnight. Are you done with what you’re doing?”
Josiah raised an eyebrow. “In private?”
“Yes.”
Josiah’s friends, who had remained there, noticed the odd atmosphere and came up with various excuses to leave.
“Josiah, something urgent just came up. I need to leave now.”
“Me too…
“My girlfriend has called me several times, urging me to head back.”
Zane, worried that some of their friends might struggle to find an excuse, quickly clapped his hands to draw attention. “It’s about time to eat. Why don’t we all go and have barbecue together? It’s my treat today!”
“All right, let’s go!”
He brought everyone away with him, leaving only Lysander, Josiah, and the girl in the billiard lounge.
The girl, pampered and fussed over all day, was upset when the atmosphere suddenly changed. Hanging her head, she stood aside without a word, showing no intention of making herself scarce.
Lysander paid no mind to the girl who looked even younger than Michelle and only asked Josiah, “Shall we talk somewhere else? How about the booth over there?”
Josiah remained silent, his gaze fixed on the pool cuc.
Lysander didn’t say another word, staring at Josiah and awaiting his response. She was determined to stay until she achieved her goal.
After a moment of silence, Josiah turned to the girl. “It’s getting late. I’ll have Aiden take you home.”
The girl bit her lip. “Will you teach me how to play pool again in the future?”
“We’ll see. If I’m not available, you can go to Aiden. He’s quite good at it, too,” said Josiah.
The girl pointed at Lysander. “Is she your girlfriend?”
Josiah glanced at Lysander before denying. “No, she’s not.”
