Noelle spoke coldly. The surroundings were eerily quiet, with only the soft breeze rustling her hair. Her gaze was icy, as if it could pierce through someone's heart. It chilled Yevgen to the core.

"I've liked you for so many years, Noelle," he said.

"That's your issue. You liking me is your business; it doesn't mean I owe you anything for it," she replied.

"Noelle, why? We've been classmates for so many years, and you knew I liked you then too. Back when we were in school, you never pushed me away. I thought that over time, you'd grow to like me," Yevgen confessed, his heart aching from the rejection.

"Not every affection is reciprocated. Yevgen, I hope you understand that your feelings are yours alone, and you can't use them to emotionally manipulate me," she explained.
