I wake slowly, not fully understanding my surroundings. I don’t hear any snarling or growling like I have during the last week I’ve been here in the claiming.

I turn, ready to race out of the room, a room that a small part of my brain realizes is the one I’ve been living in for nearly two months.

I look around the room. Yep, this is my room.

I look back to Mason. Yep, that’s Mason.

I reach my hand up to my neck. Yep, I’m marked.

As Mason watches me reach up to touch the mark on my neck, a smug smile spreads across his face.
