The last person I expected to come to this party was my brother. He made it clear that he had other matters to attend to, so I didn’t count on him showing up here.
I look back at Frank and he seems amused by how nervous I am.
“You’re really enjoying this, aren’t you?” I shake my head at him.
“How can I not enjoy this? You brought this upon yourself. How the hell are you going to get out of this one?”

“I see.” Jake raises his hands in defeat. “Well, there’s plenty more to go around so don’t worry about me. I’m just here to have a good time. Now why is it just the two of you here? I can’t see Vanessa. Where is she? Did she just go to the ladies room or something? I want to see her.”
