Not even when I was with Carmella did I ever have to deal with someone telling me how to organize stuff in my own bedroom. That was because I felt no one had the right to tell me what to do, until now. The last thing I want is for Vanessa to be uncomfortable in my bedroom and if it means having to make adjustments for her, I'm willing to give it a try just so I can have her close to me.

This new experience, along with all the advice from my father-in-law is something I won't take lightly.

Just as I get ready to leave, Vanessa grunts and touches the side of her stomach and it sends me in a state of panic as I rush to her.

"What's wrong?" I ask, looking at her hunched over.

She straightens up with a sigh of relief and says, "I'm fine."

"That didn't look like it was the case."

"It was nothing. It's gone now," she assures me.

"Is everything okay with the baby?"

"Everything's fine."

Despite her reassurance, I shake my head and say, "Maybe I shouldn't go to work."

"Hey, I'll be fine."

"No. I don't think so."

"Hey," she chuckles. "I'm fine. Don't worry. I'll always tell you if something is really wrong."

I sigh with relief. "Promise me."
