Sophia shrugged. “Why not? I mean, Miss Corinne could be having the best time in her life as we speak. There’s no reason for you to be sad.”

Jeremy frowned. “That’s enough chit-chat for the night. Go find another room to sleep in.”

Sophia shook her head. “Where? I can’t sleep here or in Francine’s room, and I’m not going to sleep in the guest room.”

“Only you would believe in the words of a tarot reader!” said Jeremy with annoyance.
