She started to get teary as she spoke.

Lucas never fell for a trick like this. He was in a rush to get back to Corinne, so he wanted to cut his conversation short. “That’s enough. You’re not welcome here. Corinne doesn’t want to see you at all.”

Realizing she would need to take a harder approach with Lucas, Sophia said steelily, “Mister Lucas, can I ask what your relationship is with Corinne? What right do you have to speak on her behalf? What right do you have to stop me from seeing her?”
