Others quickly made way for Lucas. As he approached Melody, the whispers started again.

"Tsk! Melody must've used a love potion on Mister Lucas. Otherwise, why would he choose her when he could be with Miss Stella?"

"Hush. We lowly workers will never understand the minds of the rich. I distinctly remember hearing that Mister Lucas and Miss Stella grew up together, so they must've been childhood sweethearts. Melody was already not well-liked by the others, and Lucas' frequent visits on her behalf only added a tinge of jealousy among the group. "Mister Lucas must be here to help Melody again, right?
