She could have had a smoother journey if it had not been for those setbacks, but no one could say for sure that they were meaningless. After all, perhaps it was due to all those setbacks that she was ever to reach all these new heights.

Most importantly, no matter how many horrible things she had experienced before, Melody had overcome them all. Lucas was forever proud of her.
