The lights in the emergency room flickered off and the door swung open as the doctor stepped out, removing his mask.

Mila immediately rushed forward, her face filled with anxiety. "Doctor, how is my son?!"

"Madam Mila, you were lucky to bring him in when you did. Another ten minutes, and we might not have been able to save him."

The doctor breathed a sigh of relief. "He was in shock from blood loss, but he's stable now. I gave him a transfusion and stitched up his wounds. He'll need plenty of rest and time to recover."

Mila felt a wave of relief wash over her, as if the weight on her chest had been lifted. She broke into a cold sweat. "Thank goodness... Thank goodness!"
