Charles stopped sipping on his coffee abruptly. His long lashes concealed his eyes and emotions.

Gwendolyn was startled to hear his answer. She assumed he would hide his identity instead of revealing it to her honestly.

He continued, “You’ve just arrived, so you don’t know the situation in Erihal well. My mother is the only elder sister of the king, and she’s well–respected here.
