I kissed Ash’s head as I walked up the endless stairs. He’s asleep and the soft snores that pass between his partly parted lips were cute.

Mila is breathing heavily behind me. “Those stairs are killers. I need a long a*s shower as soon as I get inside.” She groaned, holding the handrails and using them to pull herself up those stairs.

“Mila!” I hissed, covering Ash’s ears with my hand. The other was already pressed on my shoulder.

“What? He’s asleep, it’s not like he can hear me.” She argued; she sounded breathless as hell.

“He might subconsciously,” I argued back and thanked the heavens that the stairs were final ly coming to an end. Ash’s weight was really something else. My arm was starting to feel numb.
