I place the phone down on the counter, my head a bit hazy.

“What’s wrong baby?” My husband walked into the kitchen and noticed my change of mood.

I looked over at him, still a bit confused by the conversation I just had with my father.

He noticed my confused and concerned stare and his brows knot as he approaches me. “That man called you, didn’t he?” He spat, coming closer and holding me.
