The Heartless Alpha’s Beloved Luna
Chapter 238
Chapter 238 Gideon's POV The darkness was my enemy. I couldn't remember why I was fighting, only that it was essential that I wake up. I punched upwards through the shadows. My limbs felt heavy and unresponsive, and I knew I still dreamed because the darkness was made of hands that clutched at me and tried to drag me back down into oblivion. There was one gleam of gold in the darkness, a radiant thread that seemed perpetually at the corner of my eyes. It moved when I tried to look at it directly, but its gleaming light was present nonetheless.

My warriors wasted no time asking questions, they saluted and whirled, dashing off to follow my commands. I stalked up the stairs to Avery's room, but felt no surprise when I found it empty.

I may have slept for a few hours, but in these territories, that still limited possible destinations to only a handful. I doubted she had thrown her recovering mother into the wilds and fens, so they would be in a vehicle of some sort, and there were only so many roads leading

the enchantress' field began. As I expected, I could see no house. But I knew it was there. She might have magic to befuddle my mind, and confuse my senses, but the bond that glowed in my chest was a guide rope that could not be so easily severed. "Wait here," I told
